Summer Weekend Workshop with Karin O'Bannon May 16-18
Teacher: Karin O'Bannon, senior Iyengar teacher.
Schedule: Fri. May 16, 6-8pm. Sat. May 17, 11am-1pm and 3-5:30pm. Sun. May 18, 10am-noon.
Over the past 20 years, Karin has regularly traveled to India to study with the Iyengar family.
In 1996 she received Intermediate Sr. III level certification. As a long-time teacher at the Iyengar Yoga Institute of Los Angeles, Karin taught all
levels of classes and taught in the teacher training program. She moved to Rishikesh, India in 2002 and taught Iyengar Yoga to
all levels of students, developing a teacher training program recognized by IYNAUS. Karin currently lives in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Cost: $160 for all four sessions or $50 each for individual sessions.
Introduction to Pranayama 1 Sat. July 19, 1-3pm
Teacher: Phyllis Rollins
Pranayama is the regulation of the breath which focuses on the length of the inhalation, exhalation and the interruption of
the flow of breath. It prepares the mind for more internal practices such as concentration (dharana), meditation (dhyana),
and self realization (samadhi). In this beginning class we will cover the benefits and basic techniques of pranayama.
You will learn to set up your blankets for supine pranayama, and a variety of breathing practices will be introduced
including Ujjayi and Viloma 1 and 2. At the end of this class you will be ready to begin your own daily breathing practice.
Cost $30.
Introduction to Pranayama 2 Sat. July 26, 1-3pm
Teacher: Phyllis Rollins
This class is for students with some familiarity with supine pranayama. We will begin to expand our study to include a
seated practice. You will learn the benefits and techniques of Viloma 3, Nadi Sodhana, Bhramari and Bhastrika.
The effect of focusing our attention on the breath is a quiet serene mind. You will experience a deep sense of peace and
relaxation after successful pranayama. Cost: $30

4-Week Introductory Iyengar Series
The next set of series are as follows:

* Tues. May 27 - June 17, 6:15-7:45pm
All students new to yoga or the Iyengar method are encouraged to complete
our 4-Week Introductory Iyengar Yoga Series. This series covers the basics
of alignment, action, and philosophy according to the Iyengar tradition.
This series of 4, one hour and half hour classes are designed to prepare
new students for our ongoing beginning level classes. Cost: $50 for the
